Greece has amazing history because of that, many people are fascinated and drawn to Greece. Greece has seven main periods throughout its history. Starting with the neolithic period that started in 7000 BC and ending in 3200/3100 BC which started the establishment of agricultural societies and ending with modern Greece that started in 1821 until now. The periods in between were the: Helladic (or Bronze Age), ancient Greece, Roman Greece, Byzantine Greece, and Ottoman Greece periods. These periods were all very important in Greece’s history.
The Neolithic period was the very first known settlement of Greece. “Modern archaeologists have divided the Neolithic period of Greek history into six phases: Pre-Pottery, Early Neolithic, Middle Neolithic, Late Neolithic I, Late Neolithic II and Final Neolithic (or Chalcolithic).” This period not only contributed a lot to Greece throughout time but other cultures and regions as well.
People were immediately drawn to Greece because of the amount of fishing available, however, Greece started off very small because it had a lack in fertile soil. When the stone age hit people flew to Greece though and Greece history and architecture really started.
When people go to Greece now they can see their beautiful buildings and artifacts that have been there forever. Throughout history Athens was the most known contributor to their history. “Athens, Greece provides one of the first examples of a city-state in the ancient world. Ancient Rome also influenced the urban architecture and urban planning for Europe over the centuries. There is no doubt that the Graeco-Roman world exhibited an extremely urbanized way of life.In addition to technological advances in ancient Greek agriculture, there were several other factors that contributed to the success of urbanization of the Athens city-state: Greece had a written alphabet by 700 B.C., the ancient Greeks invented coined money, central banks were invented by the ancient Greek, the city conducted a variety of cultural functions for its citizens, the Agora, as a place for public functions, became the focus of urban life.”
I myself, am fascinated by Greece's history. It amazes me how much there is still available to go see in person. One of the main reasons I want to go to Greece is the history that comes along with a trip to Greece. Even most hotels on the beach have history that comes along with it and attracts people from all over.

With history here are two additional links to websites about Greece's history. The first one (https://gatesofnineveh.wordpress.com/2011/09/06/the-trojan-war-in-greek-historical-sources/) talks about Greece and the different wars they fought. It is really interesting to learn about and greatly affected Greece's history. The other one: https://www.britannica.com/place/ancient-Greece is just a brief overview of Greece history. It shows a lot about the history and breaks it down all the periods in a really nice way.
